Starr King UU - April Earth Ministry

April is Earth month at Starr King and 20 April will be our special Earth Sunday, in advance of the official Earth Day that falls on 22 April. Several members of Earth Ministry at Starr King will be participating in the celebration that Sunday. We will present the idea of the Green Sanctuary program and invite the whole congregation to participate. There will also be special music by the Sometimes SKUUC Choir.

As a part of Earth Sunday, we will take up a special collection to support UU Ministry for Earth, the UU affiliate that has been the creator and sponsor of the Green Sanctuary program that has grown by leaps and bounds. UU Ministry for Earth has also issued a special challenge to UU congregations for individuals to become members.

As an incentive, the congregation that signs up the most members as a percentage of their certified membership between 1 March and 15 May will win a free workshop from Gaia Workshops based on The Work That Reconnects developed by Joanna Macy. Details are available in a flyer on the Earth Ministry bulletin board in the library.
