Join the No Room for Racism vigils that are held in Hayward every third Friday
from 4 to 5 P.M. at the intersection of Jackson-Mission-Foothill.
An opportunity to stand for your values! Sponsored by South Hayward Parish.

SKIFFLE gathers in the Sanctuary for instrumental music every Wednesday evening from 7 to 9 P.M. All levels of musicianship invited.

6 April: Shamanic Journeying (drums, chanting, trance states).
4 May: (topic to be determined by group interest).

Morning Discovery meets at Church from 10 to 11:15 A.M. on first and third Wednesdays; All are welcome to join us to explore community and spirituality, discussion and shared silence.

Evening Discovery returns from summer holiday to meet at Church at
7 P.M. on first and third Wednesdays

Building Your Own Theology

In this adult Religious Education series, participants explore
their own religious and spiritual journeys. In the class, we
will talk about important people and experiences that have
shaped our personal ideas about the meanings and mysteries
of life, and about what is sacred.

11 May
25 May

The Book Group will meet Thursday 18 May at 7 P.M. at the home of
Natalie Forrest and Doug Sprague to discuss The Book Thief by
Markus Zusak. All welcome! Please ring to let the hosts know you will be
coming. The June book will be A Spot of Bother by Mark Haddon.

SKIT improv group meets in the Sanctuary on second and fourth Thursdays
at 7:30 P.M.

 

The Social Justice Committee meets on second Sundays
after second service. All welcome. Discussion will focus on prioritizing issues
we plan to address in the coming year.

Building Your Own Theology
Building Your Own Theology, an adult Religious Education series, concludes
in May. At our worship service on 25 May, members will share personal ideas about the meanings and mysteries of life and about what is sacred. Each participant develops a personal credo, a statement of religious truth and meaning uniquely his or her own. The final two classes will meet on Sundays: 11 May (following second service) and 25 May (after worship).

Sunday 4 May
Come Celebrate May Day with us! Come Dance around the May Pole, eat, meet and be merry! The May Day Celebration will start promptly after Second Service.
There will be a short prayer, then the Haida Dance, then the May Pole to be held outside in the parking lot. Please bring a finger food lunch item to share; if you do not wish to bring a finger food for the Lunch Potluck, please bring your own lunch. Drinks
(plates, napkins too) will be provided.

The Film Group will gather on Saturday 10 May at 7 P.M. We will be
viewing an evening of short films including the Academy Award winning
The Red Balloon. Let host Stuart Fink ) know you are coming,
and please bring a movie snack to share.

Saturday 3 May
Annual Open Mic (Talent) Night This is a free event, with a dessert
potluck to share, open to the congregation and friends. Share your talents!
Bring your appreciation! To perform, please sign up at the Community Table.
Doors will open at 7 P.M. Showtime will commence at 7:30 P.M. The event
will run until about 10 P.M. (this includes clean-up). See Bill and Ruth

Saturday 3 May
Free Storytelling Workshop at Starr King Church
Join the Worship Committee and Rev.Chris Holton-Jablonski from 9 A.M.
to noon for this fun and playful experience in learning to lead children’s stories
for worship. Chris is Minister of Religious Education at the UU Church in Kensington
(Berkeley) and is a master story teller. Everyone is welcome.
